The official countdown for the Nike Women's Half Marathon has commenced, and I am so excited that the event is almost near! I have butterflies just thinking about hitting the hills of San Francisco and nervous at the same time! Special thanks to Finish Line for the outfit!

I made 2014 my year to do the extraordinary. I've broken the wall of comfort and excelled to greatness because I found the courage to. I always told myself that I would never run a marathon especially since I was never a runner (Let's be clear, I'm still not). However, my mentality is if I have never done it, then I'm going to do it.

My body is definitely not used to running. The thought of my feet pounding the concrete makes me cringe because I've been suffering from shin splints on my right leg. This year was the year I actually started running. Although my endurance isn't the best, it's the best it has ever been in my whole entire life.

After months of communicating via social media, I'm finally going to meet some of the Finish Line influencers! These girls are bad asses with such great determination. Not only is this my first marathon, but it's pretty nerve wrecking doing a pre-run with advanced runners. I know they'll push me beyond my limits, so I'm excited to see what is to come!

"The real purpose of running isn't to win a race; it's to test the limits of the human heart."
- Bill Bowerman

This is my marathon..Something that I thought I was never able to do, & I fucking signed up for it. I stopped thinking about how fast or slow I'll be done, it only matters that you will get it done. No turning back now (also because it's non-refundable lol). I was fed up with letting my fears control me, and I decided to put my faith into the unknown. After all, exploring into the unknown is how you achieve greatness, right?

I won't let this marathon own me, I will conquer it. For those who left me in their dust because I wasn't fast enough, this one's for you. I'll meet you at the Finish Line.
